WordPress 2.1.1 Update

Posted by Johan Cyprich on 26 Feb 2007 | Tagged as: Applications

The latest WordPress update was released on February 21. It was classified as a “low-to-medium priority update”. There were about 30 bugs fixed in version 2.1.1.

Version 2.09 was also released but this was just a security update. The WordPress Organization emphasized that they are committed to supporting 2.0 until 2010. If your running 2.0.x, you should upgrade to 2.1.1 because new features will be implemented only in the higher branches (i.e. 2.1).

The WordPress update was flawless. The only improvement I could think of would be to have a switch to make the blog offline while doing an upgrade. Joomla has this feature which makes it easier to do maintenance without rushing to get your site back up.

Apart from that, all of my plugins and PHP modfications continued working.
