Joomla 1.5 RC4 Released

The latest release candidate of Joomla 1.5 was released on December 19. The RC4 version was code named Karibu which is a Swahili word meaning nearby, close, close by, or at hand. The developers gave it this name because the stable version of Joomla 1.5 is almost ready to be released.

I’m amazed by the number of spam comments that get through Akismet’s filters. While it catches most of the spam, I’m still manually deleting comments that were successfully posted each day.

I’ve been having a very difficult time trying to migrate data from a Postgres 7 database to Postgres 8. I used the pg_dump utility to export a database, but I got numerous errors when trying to import into a Postgres 8 server.
