155,583,825 Web Sites
Netcraft recently reported that there are 155,583,825 web sites on the Internet. There are at least 70 million blogs in that number, and it doesn’t include intranets which are increasingly being used by companies for managing and providing information to their employees.
The following list from Technorati shows the growth of blogging over the last 5 years.
- January 2004 – less than 2 million blogs
- January 2005 – 6 million
- January 2006 – 24 million
- July 2006 – 50 million
- January 2007 – 60+ million
- January 2008 – 70 million (?) stats not released yet
