Set a World Record with Firefox

Posted by Johan Cyprich on 29 May 2008 | Tagged as: Applications

Firefox 3 will be released soon and the Spread Firefox community has issued a challenge: set a Guinness world record for the most software downloads in 24 hours. The date for attempting this record has not been posted yet, but will be announced soon on the Download Day 2008 page and I’ll also announce it here as well.

The Download Day 2008 page also has a section where you can pledge to download Firefox on the day the challenge is made. So far, there are about 28,800 pledges and the largest regions are:

United States 10,098
Japan 3,918
Spain 2,476
Canada 1,590
China 1,411
United Kingdom 779
Australia 746
Brazil 528
Chile 526

Spread the news on this event and lets set a world record!
