Don’t Upgrade to Joomla 1.5.4
Posted by Johan Cyprich on 23 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: Applications
Joomla 1.5.4 was recently released and I upgraded all of my Joomla web sites to it. A problem with this version is that it duplicates titles throughout your web site. I spent many hours manually correcting the titles and even now, I’m not satisfied with how they are being displayed.
This isn’t really a bug, but a feature that the Joomla team wrote. There have been many complaints from users regarding this and a workaround has been posted.
I normally recommend people to upgrade their web software to the latest version to get bug fixes and new features, but in the case of Joomla 1.5.4, I would say use version 1.5.3. The Joomla team is working on version 1.5.5 in response to the complaints in the current version. They plan on releasing it within a few weeks.

I was one of the first people to post a solution on my site to this issue. Took me about 15 minutes to figure it out
