Bing’s Growing Market Share

Microsoft launched their new search engine, Bing, last May and its been gaining market share every month. In August, it grew faster than Google. The top 5 search engine market shares according to comScore qSearch are:

| Yahoo | 19.3% |
| Microsoft | 9.3% |
| Ask | 3.9% |
| AOL | 3% |
Bing and SEO
Bing is significant enough to be considered in any SEO campaign. Microsoft released Bing: New Features Relevant to Webmasters white paper which explains what you need to do to get a good ranking in their search engine.
The requirement is typical what search engines look for: unique title and meta tags for each page, relevant page content, optimize page contents with keywords, and submit a sitemap.xml to Bing for indexing.
