Actus Contritionis (Act of Contrition)

Latin:

Deus meus, ex toto corde poenitet me omnium meorum peccatorum, eaque detestor, quia peccando, non solum poenas a Te iuste statutas promeritus sum, sed praesertim quia offendi Te, summum bonum, ac dignum qui super omnia diligaris. Ideo firmiter propono, adiuvante gratia Tua, de cetero me non peccaturum peccandique occasiones proximas fugiturum.

Amen.

English:

O my God, from all my heart I am sorry for all my sins, and I detest them, not only because in sinning, I deserve the penalties that you have justly established, but especially because I have offended Thee, who art the greatest good, and worthy beyond all my love. Therefore I firmly purpose, with the help of Thy grace, from henceforth to sin no more and flee the next occasions of sinning.

Amen.

Requiem Aeternam (Eternal Rest)

Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,

Eternal rest, grant unto them, O lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.

Angele Dei,
qui custos es mei,

my guardian dear,
To whom his love commits me here;

St. Michael the Archangel Prayer

Latin:

Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio, contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium. Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps militiae caelestis, in virtute Dei, in infernum detrude satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo.

Amen.

English:

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Angelus Domini (The Angelus)

Latin:

Angelus Domini nuntiavit Mariae.
Et concepit de Spiritu Sancto.
Ave Maria

Ecce ancilla Domini.
Fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum.
Ave Maria

Genuflect

Et Verbum caro factum est.
Et habitavit in nobis.
Ave Maria

Ora pro nobis, sancta Dei Genitrix.
Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi.
Oremus.

Amen.

English:

The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
And she conceived of the Holy Ghost.
Hail Mary

Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
Be it done unto me according to Thy word.
Hail Mary

Genuflect

And the Word was made flesh.
And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.

Amen.
